EDMOND, Okla. — Southern Nazarene wrapped up play at the Grace Shin Invitational this week at the Golf Club of Edmond, a 5,922-yard par-71 course. The Crimson Storm finished 18th overall with rounds of 323 and 322 for a two-round total of 645 (+77).
Haley Whittern led the way for SNU with rounds of 72 (+1) and 73 (+2) to finish tied for 9th individually at 145 (+3). Whittern's six birdies throughout the tournament tied for sixth-most in the field, and the performance marked the first top-10 finish of her collegiate career.
Riley Rinner followed with scores of 79 (+8) and 80 (+9) for a 159 (+17) total, while Esther Santos carded matching rounds of 84 (+13) for a 168 (+26) finish.
Gracelynn Nickell posted rounds of 88 (+17) and 85 (+14) for a 173 (+31) total, and Addison Hoefar rounded out the team scoring with rounds of 103 (+32) and 93 (+22) to finish at 196 (+54).
Central Missouri captured the team title at +12, with Arkansas Tech finishing runner-up at +15.
Southern Nazarene will return to action Oct. 27–28 at the Tulsa Cup, held at Forrest Ridge Golf Club in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.
