Storm Draw Even with Bisons on the Road

Bella Morgas scores early as SNU ties Harding 1-1 in Searcy

SEARCY, Ark. - Southern Nazarene battled to a 1-1 draw against Harding University on Saturday morning in Searcy.

The Crimson Storm (5-8-2, 3-5-1 GAC) came out strong early, as goalkeeper Gianna Bonnett made back-to-back saves on Harding's (7-5-2, 5-2-1 GAC) opening shots. Nine minutes into the match, Bella Morgas got SNU on the board first, finding the back of the net to give the Storm a 1-0 lead. Bonnett continued her strong play in goal with another save before halftime as SNU carried the lead into the break.

In the second half, the Storm kept applying pressure with looks from Millie Butler and Morgas. Bonnett came up big again with another save, but Harding eventually found the equalizer to make it 1-1. Morgas and Samantha Most had late chances, but neither could connect as the Crimson Storm and Bisons finished even at 1-1 in Searcy.
