Crimson Storm Battle No. 5 Fort Hays to Scoreless Draw

Aramendia shines in goal as SNU men’s soccer earns hard-fought 0-0 tie on the road in Kansas

HAYS, Kan. - Southern Nazarene men's soccer hit the road to Hays, Kansas, to take on No. 5 Fort Hays State, battling to a 0-0 draw Thursday evening.

The Crimson Storm (5-5-3, 3-3-2 GAC) came out strong in the first half, creating chances early. Braxton Decker fired one just high, while Adnan Boulaghmal's shot toward the bottom center was saved by the Tigers (11-0-3, 7-0-1 MIAA) goalkeeper, Payton Roehrich. On the other end, Southern Nazarene's keeper Aimar Aramendia came up big with a key stop against Fort Hays' Lucas Garay to keep things scoreless heading into the half.

In the second half, Aramendia continued his solid play, making another save on a low strike from Juan Linares. Bekir Lekic had a good look for the Storm later in the half, but his shot went just over the top left. Neither side could find the back of the net, as the match ended in a 0-0 draw.
