Crimson Storm Come Up Short Against Southwestern Oklahoma State

Southern Nazarene battles to the end but falls 1-0 in Saturday’s matchup at Wes Harmon Field.

BETHANY, Okla. - Southern Nazarene women's soccer came up short Saturday evening, falling 1-0 to Southwestern Oklahoma State at Wes Harmon Field.

The Crimson Storm (4-8-1, 2-5-0 GAC) started the match with solid pressure, creating a few early looks at goal. Kaira Boah fired one just over the top, followed by a save from Gianna Bonnett on a SWOSU (9-2-2, 5-0-2 GAC) shot down the middle. Shianne Stringer also tested the Bulldogs keeper with a shot to the bottom center, but it was stopped by Lexi Johnson.

SNU continued to press as Boah and Ella Adams both took chances from outside the box, but neither could find the target. SWOSU eventually broke through, finding the back of the net to take a 1-0 lead. The Storm went into halftime trailing the Bulldogs.

In the second half, SNU kept pushing for the equalizer. Adams forced another save from Johnson, while Gabriella Ponce and Bella Morgas each took solid attempts. Danika Womack had a late shot go just high, but the Bulldogs held on to secure the 1-0 win.
