Storm Secures 1-0 Victory Over SWOSU

Storm Holds Strong for Their Second Conference Victory!

BETHANY, Okla. - In their second conference matchup of the season, Southern Nazarene University continued to dominate, beating Southwestern Oklahoma State University 1-0 at home.

The game kicked off with both teams eager to find the back of the net. SWOSU's (2-5-1, 0-2 GAC) Ruth Vasquez tested the SNU (4-2-1, 2-0 GAC) defense early with a shot with only three minutes into the match, but the Crimson Storm took control soon after. Bella Morgas had a close shot with 5:25 on the clock that was saved by the Bulldogs goalkeeper, Terra Rybuck.

Then the breakthrough came at 10:12 when Ella Adams got SNU on the board, putting the ball in the net to give the Storm a 1-0 lead. SNU kept the pressure on, with Adams almost doubling the lead just minutes later, but Rybuck was on her game, making another save to keep it 1-0.

The Bulldogs had a few chances, including a solid shot from Vasquez with 27:30 on the scoreboard that SNU's keeper, Gianna Bonnett, grabbed.

In the second half, The Crimson Storm kept pushing. Millie Butler took a shot with 54:11 in the game, but Rybuck had a good save.

Natalie Montanez also almost scored late in the game, but Rybuck made a big save in the 85th minute. Even with SWOSU trying to tie it up, SNU's defense stood strong, wrapping up the match with a 1-0 win.
