Storm Fall to Mustangs

Penalty Kicks Push MSU to 2-0 Victory

WICHITA FALLS, Tx. - It was a tough night for the Crimson Storm as they faced the No. 19 ranked Midwestern State on the road, ending in a 2-0 loss.

The Storm (3-2, 0-0 GAC) battled through the first half. Midwestern State (3-0-2, 0-0 LSC) got on the board with 22:46 on the clock, when Mere Escobar knocked in a penalty kick to give the Mustangs a 1-0 lead. SNU had their chances, too. Francisco Chong nearly made a shot at 38:22, but his shot flew just wide of the goal. Andrej Krivokapic kept SNU in the game, making a key save with 41:05 left before halftime after a shot from MSU's Toki Iwao.

As the clock wound down on the first half, the Storm went into halftime trailing 1-0.

The second half had plenty of action, but another penalty kick came from MSU. The Mustang's Mere Escobar found the net again with 58:36 on the clock, extending the lead and leaving SNU trailing by 2-0 and leaving SNU battling to catch up as the clock wound down.
