Storm Falls to Bronchos 2-1 in a Tight Match

Storm's late goal comes up just short.

EDMOND Okla. - Southern Nazarene's Women's Soccer faced a tough road match against the University of Central Oklahoma, coming up just short in a 2-1 battle in Edmond.

The Storm (1-2-1, 0-0 GAC) started the game early, with Bella Morgas taking a shot with just 4:44 on the clock that had UCO's (3-2, 0-0 MIAA) defense on high alert. Kaira Boah followed up with 12:20 on the board with a powerful strike, but her attempt went just over the top.

SNU's defense was tested later in the first half when Gianna Bonnett came up big in goal, making a key save off a shot by UCO's Caleah Carter to keep the match scoreless going into halftime.

The second half saw a UCO break through. Madison Linavong scored with 74:58 on the clock, assisted by Albany Adair, putting the Bronchos ahead. Just three minutes later, Adair added a goal of her own, giving UCO a 2-0 lead and putting SNU in a tough spot for a comeback.

However, the Storm wasn't ready to back down without a fight. With 85:31 left on  the clock, Adison Johnson knocked in a clutch goal, assisted by JQ Molgaard. SNU kept pushing for a tying goal in the final minutes, but UCO's defense held strong, securing the 2-1 win.
