SNU STUNT to Transition to NCAA in 2025

Crimson Storm STUNT is set to become a member of the NCAA DII effective January 2025

BETHANY, Okla. - Southern Nazarene Athletics is excited to announce that Crimson Storm STUNT will be transitioning to an NCAA affiliated sport effective in January 2025.

In just their second season, SNU STUNT will now compete as an official NCAA sport. The Storm will be classified as NCAA Division II and will compete as an independent team with no affiliation to a conference.

SNU Director of Intercollegiate Athletics, Danny Thomason, said, "We are excited about SNU STUNT the Sport joining NCAA DII to help grow the sport in its beginning collegiate stages and putting the most excellent program together for our student-athletes and fans!"

NCAA STUNT now has 40 members across the different divisions. Division II STUNT currently has 14 teams, which is the most of any division.

Head STUNT Coach Angela Hamilton will continue to lead the squad as they get ready for a 2025 season that holds a brand new meaning to their program.

Coach Hamilton said, "This is the first time that our athletes will be recognized as true NCAA athletes since cheer is not an NCAA sport. These female athletes deserve to be recognized for all of their hard work and now they will be. We believe that this transition will allow our program to continue to flourish as we get the chance to now compete for an NCAA Championship!"

The SNU STUNT team will hit the mat for their first game of the 2025 season on February 7 at the Dallas Baptist tournament.
