SNU Earns Six All-GAC Honors

Crimson Storm Women's Soccer earns six All-GAC Honors

RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. - The Great American Conference has released the 2024 All-GAC Women's Soccer teams. The Crimson Storm tabbed six players on the All-GAC team and also had the Defensive Player of the Year and GAC Newcomer of the Year. 

Adison Johnson, a sophomore defender, has been named the Great American Conference Defensive Player of the Year. She has dominated throughout the season tallying 3 goals and helping the Crimson Storm to nine shutouts. She also earned an All-GAC First Team spot. Johnson started 17 out of 17 matches for the Storm and collected 1462 minutes this year. 

Ella Adams, a freshman forward, was named the GAC Newcomer of the Year and earned GAC First Team honors. Adams had two goals this season for the Storm. She notched 1333 minutes on the season, and contributed three assists and maintained a .422 shot on goal percentage. Adams currently ranks  fifth in the conference with 45 shots with an average of 2.65 and sixth in the conference with 19 shots on goals with an average 1.12. Adams started 16 matches for the Storm.

Bella Morgas, a sophomore forward, was named All-GAC First Team. She started every match for the Crimson Storm, collecting 1354 minutes. Morgas led SNU with four goals this season and collected three assists. Morgas ranks third in the conference with 47 shots with an average of 2.67. She also leads the Storm and the conference with 19 shots on goal with an average of 1.12.  

Natalie Montanez, a senior midfielder, snagged a spot on the All-GAC Second Team. Montanez scored three goals for SNU across 17 games. Montanez played 1337 minutes this season for the Crimson Storm and had an impressive shot on goal percentage of .367 and 11 shots on goal. 

Sam Smith, a graduate student midfielder, also earns a All-GAC Second Team. Smith played in 16 matches this season for the Crimson Storm collecting 1316 minutes. She tallied one goal and one assist. Smith also had a .375 shots on goal percentage with six total shots on goal taken.  

Gianna Bonnett, a junior goalkeeper, earned All-GAC Honorable Mention honors. Bonnett started every game for the Crimson Storm, collecting 1511 minutes. Bonnett had 66 saves for the season and had an .846 save percentage. Bonnett played a big role for the Crimson Storm with nine shutouts this season as well. 

The Storm also had members make the GAC Academic Honor Roll list. Mallory Bennett, Brenda Castro, Lauren Force, Bella Morgas, Cameryn Peters, Gianna Bonnett, Millicent Butler, Quinnlan Edens, JQ Molgaard, Hailey Najera, and Sam Smith

The Crimson Storm will take on No.1 Ouachita Baptist in Arkadelphia, Arkansas in the GAC Championships on Friday November 15 at 11:00 am.
