Storm Battle to Draw with Ouachita Baptist in Bethany

Women's Soccer Draws 1-1 As GAC Play Continues

BETHANY, Okla. - Southern Nazarene Women's Soccer battled for a 1-1 draw against Ouachita Baptist on Saturday afternoon in Bethany.

Both sides battled through a scoreless first half, heading into the break tied 0-0. The Tigers (2-4-3, 2-0-1 GAC) held a 6-3 edge in shots in the opening 45, but the Storm (3-4-2, 2-1-1 GAC) defense held firm.

Southern Nazarene broke through early in the second half to take the lead. In the 53rd minute, Darby Boehler fought to find the back of the net for her second goal of the season to put SNU in front 1-0.

The Crimson Storm held the advantage for nearly 30 minutes before Ouachita Baptist answered late. In the 83rd minute, Kaylee McKinley leveled the match at 1-1.

It was close on the stat sheet. Southern Nazarene outshot Ouachita Baptist 13-12, including 10 shots in the second half, while the Tigers put more shots on target, 8-6. Madaline Bailey finished with 7 tough saves on the day while Ouachita recorded 5 saves.

The Crimson Storm will look to bounce back on the road as they travel to Ada, Oklahoma to take on East Central on October 3 at 11:00 a.m.
