SNU Defends Home Turf with 1-0 Win Over Oklahoma Baptist

Morgas early goal seals the Crimson Storms victory at Wes Harmon

BETHANY, Okla. - The Crimson Storm made sure Wes Harmon Field felt like home turf with a dominant 1-0 victory against the Oklahoma Baptist Bison.

SNU wasted no time and got right to it. OBU's Olivia Kenas took a shot with 7:21 on the clock, trying to sneak one past Gianna Bonnett, but she wasn't having it, diving to keep things locked at 0-0.

Then, the Crimson Storm's (5-4-2, 3-2-1 GAC) Bella Morgas decided it was her time. At the 12:15 mark, she launched a shot to the bottom center, only for the Bison (3-6-2, 2-3-1 GAC) keeper Claire Stoermer to match it with a quick save.

At the 22:12 mark, Morgas struck again, and this time, she found the back of the net. With a smooth assist from Ella Adams and Camdyn Wood, Morgas slipped it past the defense to put SNU up 1-0. The Storm didn't let up, but OBU made it clear they weren't backing down either.

Right before halftime, OBU's Krissy Fulton had a shot, but Bonnett was once again on top of her game, snatching the ball and protecting the lead.

The second half was back and forth. Oklahoma Baptist's Annabelle Joski had a great shot that just missed wide right. Then with 68:30 on the clock, JQ Molgaard gave Stoermer another test with a shot right down the middle, but the Bison keeper stopped it.

As the final whistle blew, The Storm secured the 1-0 victory, on their home turf marking the first time the Crimson Storm have beaten the Bison at home since 2015.
