Maryville, Mo.—The Southern Nazarene Women's Golf team competed in their final tournament of the fall schedule on Monday and Tuesday afternoon at the Midwest Fall Classic, hosted by Northwest Missouri State at the Mozingo Golf Course in Maryville, Missouri. The Crimson Storm placed 12th, finishing a few strokes behind Southwest Minnesota State for 11th.
Each team battled tough conditions on day two as all but two teams saw their scores increase from day one to day two. Central Missouri won the tournament at +48 over their to rounds. They shot just +10 on day one. Their own Libby Green won the tournament at even par. She was an incredible 6-under after round one.
As she has all season, Haley Whittern paced the Crimson Storm with a T-32 finish. She finished with two birdies in the tournament.
Freshmen Riley Rinner and Esther Santos each tied for 43rd in the field. Rinner notched three birdies, while Santos tallied two of her own.
Allison Wylie and Darci DeWitt rounded out the Storm lineup, finishing 70th and 73rd, respectively.
SNU will now prepare for the spring slate, set to begin in February.
