Storm Falls Late to Harding 2-1

Storm Falls on The Road

SEARCY, Ark. - The Crimson Storm wrapped up a tough night in Searcy as they battled it out with Harding University but came up short with a close 2-1 loss.

The game got off to a great start, with Camdyn Wood testing the Harding (3-5-1, 2-1-1 GAC) keeper, Maysa Willis, just a minute into the game. But Willis was on her toes, blocking SNU's (4-4-1, 2-2 GAC) early shot. The Storm didn't let up, as Natalie Montanez followed up with a shot to the top right with 12:13 on the clock, but Willis blocked it again.

On the other side of the field, Gianna Bonnett was quick on her feet, making a great block at the bottom corner shot from the Bisons Kloey Fullerton with twenty minutes on the board. Then, the Crimson Storm took charge, with Bella Morgas breaking free with 30:27 on the clock and sending a shot right into the net, putting SNU up 1-0.

The Storm held their ground as they moved into the second half, where Camdyn Wood fired another shot at 54:22 that just missed. Harding wasn't giving up easily, though, and the game turned into a tense back and forth battle, with both teams fighting for control. Bonnett came through once more with 69:33 on the clock, blocking a close shot from Caroline Kauppi to keep the Storm in the lead.

Harding had a goal with a few minutes left in the second half, with Calle Citty finding the back of the net, leveling the game at 1-1. Just minutes later, Willis made yet another save against a shot from Morgas. The Bisons' Bailey Bulliner managed to pull off a last-minute goal with 89:38 on the clock, with an assist from Carmen Gunn, ending the game at 2-1 in favor of Harding.
