Storm Draw with Ouachita Baptist in Tight Battle

Late first half goals lead to a 1-1 tie at Wes Harmon

BETHANY, Okla. – The Crimson Storm battled it out at Wes Harmon Field, ending the match with a hard fought 1-1 tie against Ouachita Baptist in GAC action.

The shots started early as OBU's (4-4-2, 3-0-2 GAC) Teagan Jaussi took a shot at 4:08, but SNU's (4-4-2, 2-2-1 GAC) Gianna Bonnett was ready, making a clutch save at the bottom left corner. The Storm immediately struck back, with Karla Ramirez taking a shot aiming at the top of the net at 5:27, but Ouachita's goalkeeper Carina Chavarria came through with the save.

SNU kept the pressure on, and at 16:39, JQ Molgaard had another chance with a shot to the bottom center, but Chavarria was on point once again.

The Tigers broke the 0-0 tie at 26:22 when Allison Reece found the back of the net, assisted by Reese Brown. The Tigers lead didn't last long though, just 13 seconds later, Ella Adams answered for the Crimson Storm with a goal of her own, set up by a great assist from Bella Morgas to tie the score 1-1.

The first half ended with Bella Morgas firing a shot at 35:20 that went just over the top, and Brenda Castro followed up with another attempt at 37:55, keeping the pressure on Ouachita Baptist.

In the second half, both teams battled to break the tie. Natalie Montanez sent a shot over the top of the goal at 50:44, while Karla Ramirez's strike at 58:59 went wide left. As the clock wound down, Sam Smith came close twice in the final minute, with a powerful shot saved by Chavarria at 89:20 and another just missing over the top at the buzzer.
