Storm Moves Past the Tigers

Offense stays hot for the Storm in victory over Fort Hays State

BETHANY, Okla. - The Southern Nazarene Men's Soccer team returned home to take on the Fort Hays State Tigers in a conference battle. The Storm applied the pressure and came out on top of the Tigers, 2-0.

The Storm (3-2-2, 2-0 GAC) controlled most of the match against the visiting Tigers (2-5, 1-1 GAC). The Storm fell to the Tigers in their last two meetings and only tallied one goal. The Storm was unphased by past matchups and took care of business against FHSU.

The first half of the match was quiet until The Storm struck first. Bruno Ferreira continued to be a spark plug for the Storm as he scored the first goal of the match, which was set up on an Augustine Seaver assist. This would leave the score, 1-0, going into halftime.

The Storm continued to shoot and put pressure on the Tiger defense to begin the second half. Alvaro Sanchez put one in the back of the net on an Unaiz Shajani assist, extending the Storm lead, to 2-0.

The Storm offense was hot with a strong 18 shots on the match. The Tigers only tallied seven. The Storm offense was led by Ferreira with seven shots on the night. Juan Rodarte followed suit with three shots.

The Storm defense continued to play a big role. Goalkeeper, Andrej Krivokapic, tallied four saves in the match thanks to the help of his defense.
