SHAWNEE, Okla. - The Southern Nazarene Women's Soccer team traveled to in-state rival Oklahoma Baptist to open up Great American Conference play. The Storm continued their streak of shutouts defeating the Bison 2-0.
Oklahoma Baptist (1-6, 0-1 GAC) came out shooting early but struggled to get past the Storm's (5-1-1, 1-0 GAC) defense. The Bison outshot the Storm 10-2 in the first half. The Storm defense helped defend the 10 Bison shots alongside
Gianna Bonnett's six saves in the first half.
Bella Morgas continued her scoring rampage for the Storm, coming off of a GAC Offensive Player of the Week honor, scoring the first goal of the game giving the Storm the first half lead, 1-0.
The Storm continued to turn up the defense and shut down the Bison offense to start the second half. The Storm offense continued to press in to begin the second half putting pressure on the Bison.
Segen Henley scored her first goal of the season for the Storm thanks to a Morgas assist. Henley's goal would seal the deal for the Storm.
The Bison outshot the Storm 8-6 in the second half, but the Storm took all the shots they needed.
Gianna Bonnett collected a stellar 10 saves on the night for the Storm. Bonnet was assisted by the help from
JQ Molgaard,
Avery Pyle,
Adison Johnson, and
Millie Butler on defense. The Storm defense blocked numerous shots to ultimately shut down the OBU offense.
The Storm have earned their third shutout in a row this season and collected their fifth shutout overall on the season. The Storm continues to have their best start in the Division II era.

The Storm will return home on Saturday, September 23, to take on Northwestern Oklahoma State. Kick-off is set for 5:00 p.m. at Wes Harmon Field.
