BETHANY, Okla.- The Crimson Storm returned to their home field under the lights in an intense matchup with nationally ranked Midwestern State. The No. 6 Mustangs offense was too much for the Storm to keep up with, defeating SNU 5-1.
The Mustangs (5-0-1, LSC 0-0) made things tough for the Storm (2-2-2, 0-0 GAC) early on. The offensive powerhouse has won all five matchups with the Storm. The Storm looked to give the Mustangs a run for their money in their sixth matchup with the Mustangs.
MSU took an early lead, shooting one by the SNU goalie in the first three minutes of the match. The Storm defense fended off the Mustangs until the Mustangs stretched their lead to 2-0, 28 minutes into the first half.
Juan Rodarte took matters into his own hands, cutting the score in half, 2-1, thanks to a
Unaiz Shajani assist. The Mustangs only needed six minutes to extend their lead again putting them up 3-1 at the half.
The Mustangs scored two more goals in the second half to seal the deal, 5-1. The Storm was unable to respond to the hot Mustang offense.
The Storm and the Mustangs shot 15 goals each while the Storm only had four shots on goal compared to the Mustangs' 10. The Storm offense was led by
Bruno Ferreira and
Miguel Torrecillas with three shots apiece followed by Fransico Chong with two shots.

The Storm will travel north to Rogers State on Thursday, September 21 to begin GAC/MIAA play. Kick-off is set for 7:00 p.m. in Claremore, Okla.
