Tied in Texas

SNU battled with West Texas A&M resulting in a draw, 1-1

CANYON, Texas - The Southern Nazarene Men's Soccer team headed south to the great state of Texas to take on Lone Star Conference foe West Texas A&M. A true battle down to the wire resulted in a 1-1 draw in Canyon.

The first half was pretty quiet for both teams. West Texas A&M (0-2, 0-0 LSC) was the aggressor with nine shots in the first half. Southern Nazarene (2-1-1, 0-0 GAC) only collected three shots in the first half, but the Storm made the most of their shots scoring the first goal of the match.

Unaiz Shajani punched in the first goal in the final three minutes of the first half. Augustine Seaver set Shajani up perfectly in order to put the Storm on top headed into halftime, 1-0.

The Buffaloes came out shooting early after halftime. WTAMU only took 50 seconds to set up their shot and take it, tying the score, 1-1.

Andrej Krivokapic fended off the Buffaloes with the help of his top-notch defense. Krivokapic tallied nine saves on the night. The Storm offense leaned on Bruno Ferreira. Ferreira continued to be a force for the Storm, leading the team with three shots on the night.

The Storm would have a few more chances to score but could not find the back of the net. It was truly a battle throughout the entire match. The defense was strong on both ends resulting in a 1-1 draw.
