Bethany, Okla.—For the second week in a row, the Crimson Storm Rocket League team defeated the Savage Storm of Southeastern Oklahoma State to advance to the semi-finals of the OACE Spring season tournament.
The Crimson Storm took the 3-0 sweep of the Savage Storm in a match that saw Southeastern shoot 1 for 21 over the 3 games while SNU shot 7 for 24.
Zane Wright (Bris) lead the way for SNU again securing 5 of the 7 total goals with 4 alone in game 3. Kenny Robertson (kennykudos) and Josh Robertson (Kyrios) joined the offense with one goal each. Kenny Robertson scored the opening and lone goal in game 1 that set the tone for how SNU was going to approach this match.
The match strategy for the Crimson Storm was a balanced rotation of attacking and waiting for the Savage Storm to make mistakes, and then capitalize on them. SNU used every inch of the arena to rotate their offensive attack while remaining tight on defending the goal. The Crimson Storm had 17 total saves over the match with an impressive 13 saves in game 2.
Zane Wright ended the evening with 5 goals, 6 saves, and 2 assists. Kenny Robertson finished with 1 goal and 2 saves, Josh Robertson anchored the defense with 1 goal, 1 assist and 5 save. Rudy Rockett (TheRockett) rounding out the match with 3 saves.
The Crimson Storm moves into the OACE semi-final match against the #2 seed Rogers State next week. The Crimson Storm will have a chance to redeem the early season loss to Rogers State in an opportunity to punch their ticket to their first OACE Rocket League Championship.
