SEARCY, Ark. - The Southern Nazarene Women's Soccer team traveled to Searcy, Arkansas to take on the Harding University Bisons. The Storm continued their streak of shutout wins defeating the Bisons, 1-0.
The Storm (7-1-2, 3-0-1 GAC) met the Bisons (2-5-4, 0-2-3 GAC) on the road for the 22nd-second meeting between the two. The last time the Storm defeated the Bisons was in 2016 in a matchup in Searcy. The Storm looked to change their luck against the Bisons in the 2023 season.
The Storm offense was kept to a minimum by the Bisons. The Storm was only allowed two shots in the first half while the Bisons collected 10 shots. Despite the slow start for the Storm, they continued to press on and turn it up on the defensive side.
The Storm continued to be challenged offensively by the Bisons.
Bella Morgas put one in the back of the net on a
Karla Ramirez assist to break the tie, 1-0. This would be all the offense that the Storm needed to defeat the Bisons.
Morgas led the Storm offense with three shots and
Natalie Montanez followed with two.
Gianna Bonnett continued to lead the Storm at the goalkeeper position. She picked up eight saves in the match. Bonnett collected her seventh shutout of the season thanks to the help of a stellar Storm defense.

The Storm will return home on Saturday, October 5 to take on Ouachita Baptist. Kick-off is set for 1:00 p.m. at Wes Harmon Field.
