Storm Clinches GAC Regular Season Title

SNU defeats Harding to claim their third regular season title in a row

BETHANY, Okla. - The Southern Nazarene Crimson Storm returned home to Wes Harmon Field to host the Harding Bisons in a rainy match-up. The Storm offense continued its hot streak and defeated the Bisons, 5-0 and clinching the GAC regular season championship.

Southern Nazarene (11-3-2, 9-1 GAC) looked to take their second match victory over the Bisons We (6-10-1, 4-7 GAC) this season. In their last meeting earlier this year, the Storm came out on top 7-2 on the road.

The Storm took some time to find a spark in the first half but eventually found one to jump ahead of the Bisons. Juan Rodarte fired one over to Unaiz Shajani to give the Storm their first goal of the match. SNU did not wait long to extend their lead, using the next minute to stretch their lead on a Rinta Takagi goal from Francisco Chong assist. This gave the Crimson Storm a 2-0 lead going into halftime.

Southern Nazarene continued to shoot early in the second half and ultimately scored thanks to another Shajani goal, but this time on an Esteban Ramirez assist. No more than five minutes later Bruno Ferreira fed Miguel Torrecillas a quick pass to score and put SNU ahead, 4-0.

The Bisons tried to silence the hot Crimson Storm offense but ultimately failed. The Storm snuck in one last goal in the final minutes of the match. Alvaro Sanchez set up Daniel Trojman perfectly to give him an open shot, making the final score of the match 5-0.
