Takedown in Tahlequah

The Storm defeats the Riverhawks for the second time this season

Tahlequah, Okla - Southern Nazarene hit the road to take on Northeastern State for the second time this season. The Storm got back in the win column, defeating the Riverhawks, 2-1.

SNU (9-3-2, 7-1 GAC) defeated NSU(6-4-3, 4-3-1 GAC) earlier this season at home, 3-0. The Storm controlled the match offensively and defensively to come out on top in a top-25 match-up.

The Riverhawks struck first during the 14th minute to go ahead 1-0 early. The Storm (9-3-2, 7-1 GAC was unphased and Unaiz Shajani took the final minutes of the half to tie the score going into the half, 1-1. A Cesar Solis assist set up Shajani for the perfect shot to get on the board.

The Crimson Storm continued to turn up the heat, refusing to end in a tie against Northeastern. SNU struck again on a big Miguel Torrecillas goal by a Bruno Ferreira assist. The Storm defense put up a wall the rest of the match, not allowing another Riverhawks goal.

The Storm defense only allowed an incredible five shots from NSU, while the SNU offense tallied 15 shots in the match. The Storm offense was led by Ferreira who collected four shots followed by Shajani who collected two.
