Storm Runs Crimson Again

Lights out shooting propels SNU to another win over Southeastern

DURANT, Okla.—For the second time this season, Southern Nazarene secured a 75-66 victory over Southeastern Oklahoma State. SNU also defeated Southeastern 75-66 in Bethany back on November 30. It was a tight battle throughout, but SNU's 15-2 run late in the game proved to be the difference maker. This marks the third consecutive win for SNU over Southeastern, dating back to the Great American Conference tournament last season.

The Crimson Storm (12-3, 8-1 GAC) overcame a 17 turnover night by shooting lights out. They knocked down 29-of-42 (.690) shots, including 9-of-18 (.500) from the outside. On the other side of the ball, SNU limited Southeastern (8-6, 5-4 GAC) to just 24-of-60 (.400) shooting in the game. Coming into the game, Southeastern was shooting nearly 48% per game.

SNU got off to a strong start, jumping out to an 8-0 lead in the game. However, from the 12:35 mark of the first half until the 3:21 mark of the second half, neither team led by more than 6 points. The teams traded leads throughout much of the second half, but the Crimson Storm closed the game strong. After the Savage Storm took a 59-58 lead with eight minutes to play, Southern Nazarene put together a 15-2 run that pushed the game out of reach. That big run included two three-balls from Eain Mowat and one from Tyler McGhie.

McGhie was the leader of SNU's offense all night. He finished with a season-high 28 points and did most of his damage from deep by making 6 shots from beyond the arc.

Nick Davis recorded his third double-double of the season, with 20 points and 10 rebounds.

Eain Mowat, who leads the GAC in three-point percentage at 55.9% this season, added to that mark by going 3-for-5 from deep for 9 points.

SNU will return to action on Saturday when they host East Central. The Crimson Storm defeated East Central 68-65 in Ada earlier this season. Tipoff is set for 3:00 p.m., following the women's game.
