Stalemate in Searcy

SNU’s match with Harding results in a 0-0 draw

SEARCY, Ark. — Southern Nazarene faced a tough weekend match against Harding, working through a scoreless 90-minutes that ended in an ultimate 0-0 draw.

It was a physical match to say the least as 25 fouls were committed between both teams. The ball rarely found its way in sight of the goal as the Storm (3-3-2, 1-0-1 GAC/MIAA) had the only shots on goal that afternoon with two. The Bisons (0-6-1, 0-1-1 GA/MIAA) saved both of those shots, which would be the only saves tallied in the match.

It was a defensive standoff the entire contest, but SNU still tested the Bisons' back line with a round of shots, totaling 12 that afternoon. Harding only had seven in the match, making it a quiet day for SNU keeper Bence Mocsari.

Unaiz Shajani continued to highlight his offensive abilities, recording four shots with one shot on goal. Nathaniel Mederos was right there with him, tallying three shots with one shot on goal.

Orlando Castro, Harei Maeda, and Juan Rodarte combined for four shots.

SNU will remain on the road as they head to Claremore, Oklahoma to take on Rogers State Thursday, September 22nd. The Hill Cats are currently 2-2-3 overall, tying their first conference matchup against Fort Hayes State 2-2. Kick-off is set for 7 p.m.
