Storm Fall in Arkadelphia

Storm fall on the road to No. 13 Ouachita Baptist

ARKADELPHIA, Ark.—No. 13 Ouachita Baptist proved their ranking on Saturday evening, earning a 45-0 victory over Southern Nazarene.

Ouachita (2-0, 2-0 GAC) was dominant in all phases of the game. They completely shut down the Crimson Storm (0-2, 0-2 GAC) offense and marched up and down the field on offense to a tune of 556 yards. Much of their damage came on the ground, racking up 335 rushing yards in the contest.

The Tigers jumped out to a 10-0 lead in the first quarter. The lead quickly developed into a 31-0 lead in the second quarter. The Storm had a chance to get points late in the first half, making their way into Ouachita territory for the first time in the game. SNU drove all the way down to the Ouachita 9 yard line, but an interception ended SNU's best opportunity for points in the game.

Ouachita added two more touchdowns in the third quarter and cruised through the fourth quarter on the way to the 45-0 win. SNU had one last opportunity for points late in the fourth quarter. They converted a fourth-and-ten and drove to the Ouachita 14 yard line, but ran out of time as the game clock expired.

Gage Porter and Jarvis Davis combined to pass for 202 yards, completing 16 of 33 attempts.

Donavaughn Hill caught two passes for a team-high 53 yards.

Trent Smith led the team with 8 total tackles, including one tackle for a loss.

Grayson Tomberlin picked off the first pass of his collegiate career in the fourth quarter.

The following Ouachita possession, SNU picked up a fourth down stop as Tavian Haughton forced a six yard loss on fourth-and-one.

The Crimson Storm will return home next weekend to host East Central. The Tigers will also come into the contest 0-2 on the season. East Central won last season's contest in Ada 40-13. SNU is 2-8 all-time against ECU. Kickoff is set for 2:00 p.m. at the SNU Football Stadium.
