LUBBOCK, Texas—Charity Logemann continued her great season for SNU Equestrian last weekend as she earned two top-5 finishes at the Hunt Seat Zone Championships in Lubbock, Texas.
Coming off an eighth place finish in the Regionals Finals Class a couple of weeks ago, Logemann improved further in the Hunt Seat competitions, placing third over the fences, and fourth in Equitation.
The show was full of experienced riders from across the nation. It featured riders from Notre Dame, University of Minnesota, University of North Texas, University of Wisconsin, Washington University in St. Louis, West Texas A&M, Butler University, University of Illinois, Kansas State, Marquette, Ripon College, St. Cloud State, St. Mary of the Woods, Tarleton State, Texas Tech, Truman State, Minnesota-Crookston, Purdue, Missouri State, and North Dakota State.
Riding against some of the best in the nation, Logemann showed out, just narrowly missing a trip to nationals as the top-two from each Zone are awarded a trip to Pennsylvania. Her work over the fences was phenomenal, earning her a third place finish.
Also competing in the equitation class, in which the rider performs various maneuvers in harmony with the horse, Logemann notched a fourth place finish, once again just outside the top-two.
It was a superb season for the junior, out of California. She was the first SNU Rider to ever qualify for both Western and Hunt Seat on the flats and Hunt Seat over the fences in the same year.
As an unforgettable season comes to a close, SNU Equestrian will look to Logemann as a senior leader next year as they try to push even more qualifiers to the Regional and Zone Championships in 2023.
