Final Results
OKLAHOMA CITY – The Southern Nazarene women's golf team shaved 17 strokes off their day one total on Tuesday during the final round of the Diffee Invitational at Lincoln Park Golf Course. In their first action of the Spring, SNU finished 13
th at tournament's end with a 328 final round team score.
The conditions remained frigid, but the wind wasn't as strong, which yielded lower scores during Tuesday's final round. SNU took advantage as they had two players card rounds in the 70's.
Sara Armstrong steered the ship to a final round 78 which finished her tied for 33
rd on the leaderboard, while
Hannah Torres fired a team-low 75 on Tuesday. Her 159 two-round total was just one stroke behind Armstrong's to finish tied for 37
th.
Freshman
Parker Garrett trimmed five strokes off her day one total, as she came in with an 86 on Tuesday, while
Rebecca Davis posted an 89 to finish a couple of strokes behind Garrett on the final leaderboard. Rounding out the Storm lineup was
Carley Haught who finished with a 93.
Central Oklahoma snuck up the leaderboard in the final round as they posted a team score of 290 to edge Oklahoma Christian by two strokes. Oklahoma City University finished third while Northeastern State came in fourth. Other notable D2's in the field were Southwestern Oklahoma State (5
th), Newman (6
th), Southern Arkansas (7
th), Fort Hays State (9
th), Oklahoma Baptist (10
th), and Northwestern Oklahoma State (12
th).
Southern Nazarene will not have long to dwell on this tournament as they gear up for more action next week on the road in Claremore for the Hillcat Classic hosted by Rogers State on March 14-15.
