DURANT, Okla.—Southern Nazarene fell on the road 6-2 in game one of their series with Southeastern Oklahoma State.
The Crimson Storm (4-14, 1-3 GAC) were able to get on the board first with a second inning RBI double from Anna Icenhower, but Southeastern (11-10, 2-2 GAC) notched a pair of runs in the third inning to gain control of the game.
Caitlyn Curlee (Bates) came through in third inning with a solo shot to tie the game, but that was the end of the scoring for the Storm. They notched just a single hit over the final three innings of the game.
Following Curlee's homerun, Southeastern rallied for a three-run bottom of the fourth inning to build a 5-2 lead. They added to that lead in the sixth inning after a bases-loaded walk.
Six different Storm players recorded a hit in the game as Curlee hit the solo home run, Icenhower roped a double, and Liana Heshiki, Sydney Sundbye, Sydney Everhart, and Lacie Winchester all singled in the game.
Southern Nazarene will look to rebound tomorrow as they get set for the Saturday double-header. First pitch is set for 1:00 p.m. in Durant.
