STEPHENVILLE, Texas—Southern Nazarene headed south to Stephenville, Texas to compete in the Two Western Shows hosted by the University of North Texas on November 19-20. The Storm Riders showed out with 13 top-5 finishes over the two day event.
SNU took 10 riders to the show. Of those 10 riders, 8 earned a top-5 finish on at least one of the days. Bethany Crouch was the lead rider overall, claiming first place on both Saturday and Sunday.
Conner Rice rode spectacularly as well, claiming a second place finish on Saturday, before taking third on Sunday. Charity Logemann improved from a fourth place finish on Saturday to a second place finish on Sunday. Tim Hough also made a nice jump on day two as he finished fifth on Saturday before also taking second on Sunday.
Janessa Izell was the other Storm Rider to finish in the top-five on both days. She took fifth on Saturday and climbed to fourth on Sunday.
Emily Nordhues had a great showing on Saturday by taking third place. She also placed on Sunday, finishing sixth. Jasmine Massey finished reserve on Saturday, but climbed to fourth on day two. Reagan Van Soest rounded out SNU's top-five finishes with a second place showing on Sunday.
Raegan Cleveland and Georgia Woodward finished off the two-day event for SNU as they both took sixth place finishes on each day.
SNU will now take some time off before returning to competition in the spring. The Storm Riders will compete again February 4th and 5th at the Two Western Shows in Lubbock, Texas. SNU is scheduled for two shows in February before competing in the IHSA Region Championship in Las Cruces, New Mexico February 25th and 26th.
