SNU explodes on offense in win over Randall

BETHANY, Okla. — It was an offensive showdown in Bethany Thursday evening as Southern Nazarene powered through Randall with a 7-0 victory in their last non-conference game of the season.

The shorthanded Saints (2-5-1, 0-0-0) were no match for the Storm's (5-9-2, 1-7-2) hot offense as SNU recorded a total of 39 shots with 21 of those on target.

SNU got off to an early start as Josie Van Pelt darted a pass to Segen Henley for the quick score, giving the Storm the 1-0 lead.

Kaitlyn Deaton wanted some of the action minutes later as Henley dished her a pass for the punch-in and SNU controlled a 2-0 advantage just six minutes into the match.

The Storm's fire could not be put out as Henley found Camryn Peter for another Storm goal, pushing SNU's lead to 3-0.  Three minutes later, Van Pelt shot a pass to Karla Ramirez in an open gap for the goal.

SNU took a short break from their offensive onslaught, but Kenley Gold quickly picked it back up as she raced past the Saints defenders to set Van Pelt up for another goal, growing SNU's lead to 5-0 with 10 minutes left in the first half.

Isabella Kingsakongthong got SNU's sixth score of the night as she sent one straight to the back of the net, propelling SNU to a 6-0 lead just before halftime.

Out of the break, Kenley Gold continued the onslaught with a shot to the back of the net, courtesy of the pass from Chandy Kirby, to help SNU earn the seventh goal of the match.

The Storm couldn't keep up the momentum for the remainder of the second half, and ended the match with a 7-0 victory over Randall.

SNU will be back on the road Saturday, October 22nd as they return to conference play to take on Southwestern Oklahoma State in Weatherford, Oklahoma. Game time is set for 3 p.m.
