JOPLIN, MO. — The Southern Nazarene Women's Soccer team found no rhythm in Joplin as Missouri Southern State claimed their first victory of the season.
The Lions' (1-2-1) offensive presence shadowed the Storm (0-3) as they outshot SNU 26-14, with 12 of those shots on goal to SNU's five. MSSU was the first to score just before the half which set the score at 1-0 at the end of the period.
Play was stagnant between both teams up until the 53rd minute when the Lions' momentum starts to take over as they secure another goal extending the lead 2-0. MSSU would score two more that half, handing the Storm the tough 4-0 road loss.
SNU's Alejandra Andrade tallied five total shots with two of those on target while Isabella Kingsakongthong would add two shots each on target. Kaitlyn Deaton joined in with five total shots having one on target.
In goal, Eliya Alvidrez notched seven saves for the Storm while Abegayle Black tallied in one.
SNU heads back to Bethany where they will host McMurry University on the 14th with kickoff set at 6 p.m.
