SHAWNEE, Okla. — In their third conference matchup of the season, the Southern Nazarene University Women's Soccer team was unable to keep up with dominant Oklahoma Baptist as they fall 7-1 in Shawnee.
The Bison (4-4-1, 3-1 GAC) came out on top early scoring their first four goals in the first half. OBU outshot the Storm (1-8, 0-3 GAC) 28-5 on the evening while 14 of those shots were on target giving them multiple opportunities to add another goal on the board.
After the half, the Bison would pick up a quick two goals early in the period extending their lead even further. SNU's Kaitlyn Deaton broke the 6-0 lead just past the 67th minute as she gave SNU their first and only goal that match.
OBU would sneak one more goal in that half to make it a final 7-1 score in Shawnee.
Deaton led the way with two shots and responsible for SNU's only goal that evening. Teammate Ashlee Ray added one shot with one on target for the Storm.
In goal, Abigail Moreno grabbed seven saves for SNU.
The Storm head to Ada this Saturday to continue GAC play as they match up with the Tigers from East Central with kickoff set for 11 a.m.
