ALVA, Okla. - It could be said that SNU had an agreement to share the ball going into this game because that is exactly what they did. For the first time this season, five different Crimson Storm players posted double-digit points en route to their third win in a row.
In the midst of their unselfish play, Southern Nazarene (14-5, 11-4 GAC) rolled through Northwestern Oklahoma State (10-11, 6-9 GAC) 80-41 in Alva, on Thursday night.
The dismissal of classes on Wednesday, due to the heavy snow, had no effect on the Storm's preparation as they shot a fire hot 56.1 percent from the floor, knocking down 32 of their 57 shot attempts. In fact, this field-goal percentage is the highest of the year for the Storm. This was much more efficient than the 26.8 percent that the Rangers were held to.
There was a reason that so many SNU players put up double-digits as they finished the game with a season-high 20 assists. To tack on to the impressive stats by the Storm tonight, 42 of their total points were scored inside the paint tonight. The same story can not be said for NWOSU as Southern Nazarene only allowed 18 points from the Rangers down low.
SNU was also in a groove from the three-point line as they shot 52.9 percent from the arc, cashing in on nine three-pointers.
Alexus Jones led the Storm on the night as she scored 13 points on 5-of-8 shooting. Jones was perfect from the three-point line, hitting 2-of-2 from the arc, and collected three steals.
Jaycee Soap also chimed in with 12 points, three steals, and three rebounds.
Kennedy Gillette made the three-point line her backyard as she went 4-for-6 from the arc, scoring all of her 12 points from deep. Gillette also came down with three rebounds and dished out two assists.
Abby Niehues was dominant again down low as she denied a team-high five shots and came down with six rebounds. Niehues also added 10 points to finish off her night.

Myriam Garcia charged her way into her third double-digit game in a row as she finished with 10 points and six rebounds.
Sonia Sarda was a bit quiet scoring on the evening as she only had seven points, but made noise elsewhere as she registered six assists and three steals.
Nefer Leon would add six points, two steals, and a rebound in her 10 minutes of play as well.
From the tip-off, the Storm were in control, outscoring the Rangers 21-14 in the first quarter. This fire didn't extinguish, but rose in the second quarter as SNU posted a 66.7 shooting clip while shooting 75% from the arc as well.
The song didn't change in the second half of play either as Southern Nazarene built on their lead to finish off the Rangers and yet another GAC win.
Southern Nazarene will be back on the court in Durant to battle the top-seeded Southeastern Oklahoma State Savage Storm (14-5,11-4 GAC), whom they beat earlier this season. Tip-off is scheduled for 1:00 pm.
