CLAREMORE, Okla. - The Southern Nazarene University Men's Soccer team dropped their Great American Conference matchup to the Hillcats of Rogers State University on Saturday afternoon.
What started as a defensive tug-of-war, turned into a scoring frenzy by the Hillcats (5-2-1, 2-2 GAC) as they took down the Crimson Storm (1-7, 0-4 GAC) 3-0.
SNU only managed to fire off six shots on the night compared to he 20 from RSU. The Crimson Storm couldn't quite piece things together in the second half as their defensive line met its match. The Hillcats jumped out of the second half with a goal by Jake Simpson in the 46th minute. It wasn't long until Jordan Watson knocked in a pair of his own goals, one in the 55th minute and the other in the 56th, to push the lead to 3-0.
One bright spot of the night came from Goalkeeper, Bence Moscari, as he snagged three saves on the night. However, the second half push by the Hillcats proved to be too much.
The Crimson Storm will be back in action October 4, in Shawnee, Oklahoma when they will face the Bison of Oklahoma Baptist University (3-4, 1-2 GAC).
