SNU Puts Together Terrific Score on Final Day of NCAA Central Regional

MUSKOGEE, Okla. - With incoming weather condensing Tuesday to a 36 hole event, the Southern Nazarene women's golf team had a long day ahead of them, but found a way to prevail forward, shooting a 309 (+25) in round two followed by a 313 (+29) in round three for a three-round score of 942 (+90).

SNU was +20 on Par 3's, +78 on Par 4's, and +32 on Par 5's. SNU finished with 124 pars and 23 birdies, which was good for fourth among the field.

Emilie Jackson had an outstanding day, shooting a 77 (+6) in round two before shooting a 74 (+3) in the final round including two birdies and 12 pars. She finished with a three-round score of 233 (+20) to finish in a tie for 19th. Jackson's final round was highlights by an incredible 30-foot putt to birdie hole 17.

Matching Jackson's three-round score was Kaylee Petersen, as she shot a 76 (+5) with two birdies in round two before rounding out with an 81 (+10) in round three for a three-round score of 233 (+20).

Bailey Blake shot a pair of 77's (+6) including four birdies in the final round to finish with a three-round score of 236 (+23) to finish in 29th. 

Sarah Rovenstine shot an 80 (+9) and an 81 (+10 ) for a three-round score of 243 (+30) while Heidi Stafford shot a 78 (+7) and a 91 (+20) for a three-round score 250 (+37).

For SNU, it was a very successful week that saw contention for a spot on the national stage despite falling just short.

Southwestern Oklahoma State won the event with a three-round score of 893 (+41) while Arkansas Tech was second at 897 (+20). Northeastern State was third with a 913 (+61) while Central Missouri took the tiebreaker over Minnesota State to move on to nationals after shooting a 931 (+79).

Peerada Piddon of Arkansas Tech won the event with a three-round score of 216 (+3).

SNU's season comes to a close after taking a huge step forward which included the first ever appearance in the NCAA Central Regional.
