BENTONVILLE, Ark. - The Southern Nazarene softball team saw their 2019 season come to a close on Friday morning as they fell to the Harding Bisons in the quarterfinals of the GAC Tournament, 8-0 (5).
Unfortunately for SNU, it was a game to forget as they were eliminated in five innings while also being no hit. Three errors did not help the Crimson Storm's cause.
Harding got one run across the board on an error in the first and proceeded to add two in the fourth before exploding for five runs in the fifth inning to finish the game off.
Mahina Sauer got the start in the circle and went 3.2 innings before
Brooklyn Sparkman checked in for an inning of work.
Madison Arnold was called upon to try and get SNU out of that fifth inning, but ultimately the Bisons were able to push across the eighth run.
Sauer and
Peyton Robinson were able to draw walks while
Kaley Knox reached base on an error.
SNU concludes their season at 25-30 and will move into the offseason. The team will say farewell to their lone senior
Riley Kalman and thank her for her tremendous contributions.
