EDMOND—Southern Nazarene snapped a six game losing skid over Oklahoma Christian on Tuesday night, mashing fifteen hits in route to a 12-6 victory.
In an action-packed game, the Crimson Storm found themselves trailing 2-0 heading into the third inning. With the bases loaded, Jeff Harris worked a walk to bring in the first run of the game for the Storm.Â
Jack Campbell would then follow with a sacrifice fly to right field to knot the game up at two.
Moving into the sixth inning, the bats got going again. Trailing 3-2,
Tanner Ladon led off the inning with a single, and would later come around to score on a wild pitch. A couple of batters later,
Elijah Brady would score off a
Cole Lee single.Â
Mason Haydock, who entered into the game for
Shelby Reese in the 3
rd inning, put an exclamation point on the inning with a two-run bomb to left field, giving the Storm a 6-3 advantage over the Eagles.
The Eagles would quickly respond with three of their own in the bottom of the inning to once again tie things at six a piece.
The offense continued to fire on all cylinders over the final three innings of the game.Â
Jackson Hopking would score in the seventh off a
Cole Lee sacrifice fly. It was the eighth inning that really broke this game open, though.  The Storm capitalized off of Oklahoma Christian's mistakes, scoring four runs on just three base hits in the inning, thanks in part to an error and catcher's interference that would load the bases. Jeff Harris would add an insurance run in the top half of the ninth to push the lead out to 12-6.Â
The Eagles couldn't get anything going off reliever
Noah Serrano. He picked up his first win of the season after a dominating performance out of the pen. Serrano racked up 5 strikeouts, giving up just one hit through 3.2 innings of work.Â
Designated hitter, Jeff Harris was dominant at the plate, reaching base each plate appearance. Harris was 3-for-3 on the day with a double, three walks, and an RBI.Â
Garrett Perez went 2-for-4 at the dish with a double and RBI of his own, to go along with two walks.Â
Tanner Ladon would also add two hits.Â
Shelby Reese was 2-for-2 at the plate before leaving the game in just the third inning.
The Storm are back in action at home on Friday as they welcome 22
nd ranked Southern Arkansas to Feland Field. Friday's double-header action is set to begin at 12:00pm.
