Reddies Complete Sweep of SNU

Storm drop series finale 5-3 in Arkadelphia

ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – Southern Nazarene fell 5-3 on Sunday to Henderson State as the Reddies completed the sweep of SNU.
 
The Crimson Storm finally got their bats going in Arkadelphia as they tallied 10 hits in the contest. The Reddies though, recorded 11 hits in the game as both teams tallied two errors in the field as well. Cole Lee got his second start of the season on the mound for SNU and the sophomore took his second loss of the year. He allowed four runs on 10 hits while striking out 10 Reddie batters.
 
Tyler Thompson provided an inning in relief and gave up one run and one hit while also recording one strikeout. Jack Campbell had another solid day at the plate for Southern Nazarene as he finished 2-for-5 with three RBI's and a triple. Emilio Escobedo also recorded two hits in the contest as he went 2-for-4. Jarrett Phillips and Cobi Ceron each finished 1-for-4 at the dish while Lee went 2-for-4 with one run scored. Shelby Reese also went 1-for-4 with a run scored while Garrett Perez finished 1-for-5 with a run scored.
 
Henderson wasted no time in getting on the board as they took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first. After three scoreless innings on both sides, SNU got on the board when Campbell's triple to right field scored Reese and Lee to give the Storm a 2-1 lead.

The Reddies tied the game in the bottom of the sixth with one run, and pushed two more runs across the plate in the seventh to take a 4-2 lead. HSU extended their lead to 5-2 and the eighth, and the Storm needed three runs in the ninth to extend the game. Campbell's single to center field scored Perez to make it 5-3, but Henderson closed the door after that to take the game.
