CANYON, Texas — Southern Nazarene's equestrian team was in action this weekend at the Two Western Shows hosted by West Texas A&M.

The Crimson Storm had another excellent weekend as they tallied nine top-five finishes at the three-day event. Desiree Trujillo had a spectacular weekend as she was the only member of SNU to qualify for Regionals on Sunday.

During the first two days, Trujillo placed fourth and third in intermediate horsemanship I. On Sunday she placed first in her class, which qualifies her to compete at the Western Semi-Finals later in March.

SNU also had another first place finish as Lindsay Roberts earned top marks in intermediate horsemanship on day one, and sixth place honors on the final day. Deborah McCarty took third and second place in the same category, while Marissa Lewis finished second in her class, and Tessa Bethea finished sixth as well.

Brinni Hair earned third place honors on day one and fifth place honors on the final day in intermediate horsemanship. Malori Minjares finished fifth in beginner walk/trot while Hannah Glass placed fifth in the same category. Jerrik Burson competed in his first event of the season, but failed to place for the Storm.

Southern Nazarene will be back in action March 2-3 at Texas Tech University where they will compete in their final competition of the Spring.
