BETHANY, Okla. — Southern Nazarene closed out its first Great American Conference series of the year with a 13-2 loss and a 18-1 loss to Northwestern Oklahoma State in the doubleheader at Feland Field on Saturday afternoon.

The Rangers' hot bats carried over from Friday as the Crimson Storm had no answer for NWOSU's lethal offensive attack. Senior
Ryan Mills got the start in the first game and took his second loss of the year as he gave up five runs on eight hits and struck out five in 5.2 innings of work.

Noah Serrano,
Triston Graves, and
Brandon Rezek all came in to pitch as Serrano allowed two runs, Graves allowed five, and Rezek one as head coach
Robert Lee tried to find some way to slow down the Ranger onslaught.

Cole Lee led the way at the plate for SNU as he went 2-for-4, while
Jarrett Phillips finished 1-for-3 with a run scored and two RBI's.
Emilio Escobedo and
A.J. Nelums each went 1-for-3 as well and
Shelby Reese finished 1-for-4 at the dish.

After three scoreless innings, Northwestern's bats came alive in the fourth as they pushed three runs across to take a 3-0 lead. The Crimson Storm came back in the bottom of the fifth by scoring two runs to make it 3-2, but after that it was all Rangers. NWOSU scored two more in the sixth to make it 5-2 and two more in the eighth to push it to 7-2.

The Rangers tacked on six runs in the top of the sixth and cruised to their second win of the series.

Freshman
Chase Wetwiska got the start in the final game of the series and he took his second loss of the season. He tossed 1.2 innings and gave up three runs on three hits.

The Crimson Storm managed just one hit in the finale, as they also recorded three errors in the field.
Connor Dayton was the only one to get a hit as he went 1-for-1 with a run scored as well.

Northwestern took a 3-0 lead into the bottom of the second where Dayton's run made it 3-1. The Rangers' bats exploded in the top of the third as they scored 11 runs to make it 14-1 and they later scored one in the fifth and two more in the sixth to close it out.

Southern Nazarene hits the road next weekend for their first series away from home. They take on East Central in Ada with the first pitch scheduled for next Friday at 2 p.m.
