BETHANY, Okla. - The Southern Nazarene Women's soccer team closed the chapter on their 2019 season at Wes Harmon field as they fell 1-0 to GAC foe East Central on Saturday evening.
Before the contest, SNU got the opportunity to celebrate the careers of six seniors in
Ashlynn Pritchett,
Rebekah Abrego,
Sara Solano,
Leslie Ruby,
Kylee Payne, and
Alexus Coxsey with a ceremony.Â
ECU held a 15-12 advantage in shots including 6-2 in shots on target. The Storm had six corner kicks to ECU's five as it was a relatively clean game with few fouls.Â
The Tigers jumped to a 1-0 lead right before the half with a score by Cheyenne Gragg, assisted by Jocelyn Caracheo, at the 36th minute of play. The Storm would put a seal on the match from there at not allow any more scores from East Central.Â
Sophomore Delaney Stewart led the attack with three shots while four different SNU players shot two times a piece. Amongst those players are
Sara Solano,
Linda Nigg,
Kylee Payne, and
Sydney Davenport.Â
Southern Nazarene will be on the road Thursday for their next matchup against Southwestern Oklahoma State. Kickoff is scheduled for 3:00 p.m.Â
