Women's Soccer Out-Shoots Ouachita; Falls 1-0

ARKADELPHIA, Ark. - Weather forced some juggling of the schedule for the Southern Nazarene University women's soccer team at Ouachita Baptist University on Saturday afternoon. The match was originally slated for 1 p.m., but it was pushed back two hours due to rain in the area, and the match was moved to Arkadelphia High School's turf field. Unfortunately for the Crimson Storm, none of those changes worked in SNU's favor.

SNU (2-6-1, 0-3 GAC) out-shot the Ouachita Baptist Tigers (4-4, 2-1 GAC) 13-7, and SNU had the only corner kick of the match, but the Crimson Storm were unable to find the net, dropping their third straight decision, 1-0.

SNU took the first shot of the match, but the next four shots went to the Tigers, and the fourth of those attempts went into the net. Josilyn Kispert converted her attempt in the 18th minute for a goal to give the Tigers the 1-0 lead. SNU out-shot the Tigers 6-1 over the final 27 minutes of the half, but OBU's Erin Webster made a pair of saves in the frame, and at the intermission, the Tigers still held the 1-0 lead. SNU took six more shots in the second half, but only two of those were on target, and Webster was equal to the task both times, as OBU held on to win 1-0.

Alejandre Andrade took three shots in the match for SNU, and Karsyn Matthews and Rebecca Moore added two apiece including one shot each on goal.

SNU will return home to take on the Bison of Oklahoma Baptist University (4-4-1, 2-1 GAC) at Wes Harmon Field and the Wanda Rhodes Soccer Complex at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, October 8.
