Crimson Storm Football Loses in Tough Matchup

SEARCY, Ark. - The Southern Nazarene University football team fell in a tough matchup at the hands of the Bisons of Harding University.

Southern Nazarene (1-4, 1-4) got off to a slow start against #22 Harding (4-1, 4-1) as they fell 31-3 on Saturday night.

The Bisons outgained the Crimson Storm in total yards by a margin of 364 -150. Although the Bisons time of posession (30:04) narrowly outgained the Crimson Storm (29:56), SNU did a good job keeping the HU offense off the field.

The Bisons struck first after 14 minutes of gameplay with a 14-yard run by Tristan Tucker. Tucker then found the end zone again on a 20-yard run after a 10 play, 67-yard drive. It wasn't long until Preston Paden of the Bisons scored on a 5-yard run to make the score 21-0. The scoring continued with one touchdown before the half on an uncommon pass by Harding from Preston Haden to to Baylor Cuh.

The Storm managed to scored three points off a 41-yard field goal from Ryan Reid - his first of the season - in the third quarter. Also, the Southern Nazarene defense held the Harding to only three points in the second half which ended the game with a score of 31-3.

Jake Hanson led the way for the Crimson Storm defense 14 tackles in the game. Dylan Meador finished in a close second with eight tackles of his own. Josh Jordan and Brysien Cross both picked up seven tackles as well.

Offensively, Gage Porter passed for 60 yards on 12 attempts. Nate Walker led the way rushing with 42 yards.

SNU will be back in action next Saturday, at home against the Wonderboys of Arkansas Tech (0-5, 0-5). Kick off is scheduled for 1 p.m.
