BETHANY, Okla. - The Southern Nazarene Men's soccer team couldn't quite put it together against the No. 21 ranked Tigers of Fort Hays State as they fell 3-1 on Saturday.
In a matchup that involved 34 fouls, the Crimson Storm (2-9, 1-6 GAC) managed only eight shots (3 on goal) to the 10 (8 on goal) of Fort Hays State (7-3-1, 6-0-1 GAC).
FHSU held a slight 5-3 advantage in corner kicks.
The Tigers would strike early in the first 11 minutes of the match with a score by Nathan De La Hoy. The Storm held their opponent at bay for a moment until Moritz Walther managed a score off a penalty kick in the 30th minute. Walther would again score four minutes later, giving the Tigers their last score of the night.Â
The lone goal from SNU came in the 57th minute of the game by Freshman
Eric Romero, his third of the season. Sophomore
Angel Lopez would lead the shot charge with two shots of his own.Â
The Crimson Storm look to rebound on Thursday as they travel down to Searcy, Ark. to take on Harding University, beginning at 7:00 p.m.
