BETHANY, Okla. — Southern Nazarene was seeking its first Great American Conference win of the season on their home field Saturday afternoon, but fell 2-0 to East Central at Wes Harmon Field.

The Crimson Storm (1-9, 0-4 GAC) tallied 12 shots in the match, five of those being on goal, while the Tigers (3-7, 1-3 GAC) fired 14 shots and five on target. The defenses on both sides were doing a good job in forcing difficult shot attempts for the full-90 minutes.

East Central got on the board first in the ninth minute, as Morgan Medina gave ECU the early 1-0 lead. After taking that lead into halftime, the Tigers scored again in the 68
th minute courtesy of Lizette Carreon to take a 2-0 lead. SNU got a couple of good shot attempts in the final 20 minutes, but weren't able to put any pressure on East Central.

Karsyn Matthews and
Kelsi Bussert each finished with two shots on goal for Southern Nazarene while
Rebekah Abrego had the other.
Ashlynn Pritchett got the start in goal for Crimson Storm, but
Micaela Owen came on after halftime and provided three saves in relief.

SNU begins their four-game road stretch next week in Weatherford, as they take on Southwestern Oklahoma State on Thursday night, before traveling to Alva on Saturday to take on Northwestern Oklahoma State.
