BETHANY, Okla. — Southern Nazarene held a 12-5 lead heading into the top of the eighth, but Arkansas-Monticello scored six runs in the eighth and seven in the ninth inning to pull off the come-from-behind 18-12 win.

The Crimson Storm (6-8, 2-5 GAC) got dual two home run days from
Emilio Escobedo and
Jake Vernon. Escobedo went 2-for-3 with four RBIs and two runs scored while Vernon went 2-for-5 with four RBIs and two runs scored.
Cole Wagner went 4-for-5 with three RBIs and two runs scored.

Austin Cooper (0-1) took the loss after giving up five runs on six hits in one inning of relief.
Ryan Mills gave up five runs, four earned, on nine hits in 6.0 innings after getting the start.

Arkansas-Monticello jumped on the board quickly with two runs on the board with the first two batters that included a two-run bomb. SNU answered with a two-run shot of their own from Wagner to left to tie the game and Escobedo gave the Storm the lead with a solo shot to center.

The Weevils tied it at 3-3 in the top of the third, and then got a run to take the lead in the top of the fourth 4-3.
Tanner Maskey drove in Escobedo in the bottom of the fourth to tie it 4-4. A few batters later, Vernon sent a three run bomb over the scoreboard in left field to give the Storm a 7-4 lead. Wagner then drove in Perez to extend the lead to 8-4.

UAM came back in the fifth with one run to cut the SNU lead to 8-5. Vernon pushed the lead back to 9-5 in the bottom of the sixth, as he sent a solo missile over the center field wall. Southern Nazarene kept it going in the sixth, as Escobedo cranked a three-run homer to left field to take its largest lead of the game at 12-5.

SNU held the Weevils (11-3, 7-0 GAC) scoreless in the seventh, but UAM unloaded in the final two innings.
