BETHANY, Okla. — Senior Night couldn't have started much better for the Southern Nazarene, and once SNU got rolling in the second half, it ended just as well in a 70-56 win over Southwestern Oklahoma State.
The only senior this year for the No. 13-ranked Crimson Storm (24-2, 21-1 GAC),
Jared Starkey, opened the game with his only 3-point attempt of the year up to that point and SNU never trailed from that point on. He finished 1-for-2 from beyond the arc.
The win also wraps up an undefeated home season and runs the streak inside the Sawyer Center to 16 straight.
Starkey finished with six points on the night in his final game inside the Sawyer Center and added a block and an assist. After scoring just two points in Friday night's game,
Jhonathan Dunn dropped 24 in the final game of the regular season. Dunn notched his first double-double of the season as he pulled down 11 rebounds and two steals. Dunn went 10-for-17 from the field and 4-for-9 form 3-point range.
Micah Sepight added 12 points, six assists and four rebounds.
Quaylon Newton also had 10 points and eight rebounds to go with two assists.
The Storm shot 42.1 percent from the field while holding Southwestern to 32.3 percent.
The Crimson Storm led from the tip, but didn't put it the regular season in the books until early in the second half. SNU led by just seven at 36-29 with 1:36 left in the first, but ended the half with four straight and continued the run in the second half. The Storm extended the run to 21-4 on a
Jared Starkey free throw to lead 57-33 and SNU cruised from there.
