ALVA, Okla. — Kennedy Gillette notched her second straight career-high as the freshman poured in 24 points and nearly had a double-double with nine rebounds for Southern Nazarene in a 78-71 loss at Northwestern Oklahoma State.

Gillette went 8-for-15 from the field, 5-for-6 from 3-point range and had seven offensive rebounds.
Abby Niehues was just a point shy of a double-double as she had nine points and tied her career-high with 13 rebounds.
Adrienne Berry also had nine points.

The Storm (7-16, 5-14 GAC) shot just 33.8 percent from the field and went 7-for-17 from 3-point range. SNU was also 12-for-16 at the line. SNU had 29 second-chance points off 25 offensive rebounds. The Rangers (11-14, 7-12 GAC) though went 30-for-40 at the free-throw line.

Southern Nazarene opened the game on a 15-0 run, their biggest lead of the game, but the Rangers ended the first with an 11-5 run to cut it to 20-11. SNU was just to just six points as it was 2-for-13 in the second quarter as Northwestern tied it up at the half. Neither team led by more than five in the second half until the Rangers went on a 9-2 run to lead 61-54 with 6:44 to play. The Storm got it to 66-62 with 3:41 left, but that was as close as SNU came.
