RiverHawks Calm Storm

SNU Left Flat-Footed in Road Loss to Northeastern State

TAHLEQUAH, Okla. - The Southern Nazarene men's soccer team struggled throughout the night as they fell to the Northeastern State RiverHawks on the road, 7-0, on Saturday at DeLoache Field.

The Crimson Storm were out shot 24-2 including 12-2 on goal while NSU held an 8-1 advantage in corner kicks.

It was a scoreless game throughout the first 32 minutes as neither team could find a breakthrough; however, an own goal put the RiverHawks ahead 1-0 and in the blink of an eye, Northeastern State held a 3-0 lead going into the break, scoring three times in eight minutes.

Things did not improve for the Crimson Storm in the second half, allowing four goals in the eventual 7-0 loss.

Senior Marcel Joseph led the attack with two shots including one on target while junior Gerald Ngwa had a shot along with junior Joao Padovan. Freshman Reagan Haydon had four saves in net while sophomore Carlos Castellanos added a save in the second half.

SNU has now lost three straight and will look to regroup on Tuesday for their regular season finale as they head to Bolivar, Mo. to take on Southwest Baptist beginning at 5:30 p.m.
