CLEVELAND, Miss. — In its first of three non-conference road games to conclude the regular season, Southern Nazarene fell 6-1 to Delta State on Tuesday afternoon.

The Crimson Storm (5-11) wrapped up Great American Conference play last week at home and looked to win its second road game of the season, but fell short. The Statesmen (3-10-2) took 18 shots in the match and landed nine of those on goal while SNU landed five-of-nine shot attempts on target.

Marcel Joseph scored his fifth goal of the season in the match, while
Cristian Hernandez tallied an assist. Freshman
Reagan Haydon made his fifth start of the season in goal for the Storm as he finished with four saves in the game.
Elian Pineda,
Joao Padovan, Ricardo, Vargas, and
Sydney Oliver each landed a shot on goal for SNU as well.

Delta State wasted no time in taking the lead on their home field as they scored 100 seconds into the match. Joseph's goal in the 29
th minute tied the match 1-1, before the Statesmen netted a goal in the 43
rd minute to take a 2-1 advantage into halftime.

DSU added goals in the 61
st, 79
th, and 82
nd minutes to extend their lead to 5-1, before they added one more score in the final minute of the match.

Southern Nazarene will now travel to Tahlequah on Saturday night for a non-conference showdown with Northeastern State at 7 p.m.
